Dear Friends, As we embrace May, the designated Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, we come together to celebrate and recognize the invaluable contributions of Asian Americans. This year brings a momentous occasion as we proudly announce our hosting of a distinguished contingent of foreign military leaders from India and Great Britain on May 18th, Thursday. Their visit presents a unique opportunity to engage with key political, military, law enforcement, and business leaders in Suffolk County. Let us delve into the notable members of the delegation and the exciting agenda that awaits.     Delegation Members: The esteemed delegation includes General Joginder Jaswant “JJ” Singh, a retired Indian Army officer, and his spouse, Mrs. Anupama Singh. General Singh’s illustrious career spans 43 years, serving as the 47th Chairman of the Chiefs of the Staff Committee in 2007 and the 21st Chief of Army Staff from 2005 to 2007. Following his remarkable military service, General Singh held the esteemed position of Governor of the State of Arunachal Pradesh from 2008 to 2013. Joining him is Brigadier John Kendall from the British Army, accompanied by a team comprising 2Lt Hursh Singh Anand, WO1 Ashok Kumar Chauhan, Cpl Chamandeep Singh, and LCpl Manpreet Kaur.   Escort Delegation: The delegation is escorted by distinguished individuals who contribute significantly to their respective organizations. Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Josan, Chairman of the Saragarhi Foundation, Inc., founded in 1987, leads the escort delegation, accompanied by Mrs. Simranjit Kaur Josan and Japjot Singh Josan. Additionally, S. Paramjit Singh Bedi, Chairman of Sikhs in America, Inc., offers valuable guidance and support.   Event Agenda: The event itinerary promises a day filled with meaningful interactions and engagements. At 9:00 am, the delegation will have the privilege of meeting and greeting Hon. Steve Castleton, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army (CASA), at the Suffolk County Legislature, located at 725 Veterans Memorial Highway. This session will provide a platform for fruitful discussions, fostering connections between esteemed leaders from various fields.   Conclusion: As we prepare to host this distinguished delegation, we embrace the spirit of unity, collaboration, and cultural exchange.
